We guide you through every step of the claims process. Our team is here when you need us most.
When an insured event occurs, our claims process is designed to be clear, efficient, and supportive. Here is what to do step by step:
Contact us as soon as possible after the incident by phone, WhatsApp, or email. Do not delay — timely notification is a policy requirement.
At the scene of an accident, do not admit fault or make any payments to third parties. This can prejudice your claim and your insurer's position.
Take photographs of the scene, any damage, injuries, and third parties involved. Collect witness contacts and police details where applicable.
For motor accidents, theft, and certain other claims, a police abstract or report is mandatory. Obtain this from the nearest police station promptly.
Complete the relevant claims form and submit it together with all supporting documents to Hamarkoh. We will review and forward to the underwriter.
Our claims team liaises with the underwriter on your behalf and keeps you updated throughout. We advocate for the fastest possible fair settlement.
Forms available as PDF. Contact us if you need assistance completing any form.

A dedicated Hamarkoh advisor handles your claim from start to settlement.
Motor claims typically take 7 to 21 working days depending on complexity, whether third parties are involved, and the speed of document submission. Simple own-damage claims with all documents can be faster. We chase the underwriter on your behalf throughout.
Stay calm and ensure everyone's safety. Do not move vehicles until police arrive if there are injuries. Do not admit liability. Take photos of the scene, damage, and other vehicles. Collect the other driver's details (name, phone, registration, insurer). Call Hamarkoh immediately on 0143 219 462.
Most insurers require you to use their approved panel of garages for motor repairs. Using a non-approved garage may affect your claim. Contact us before proceeding with any repairs so we can advise on the correct garage to use.
For cashless treatment at panel hospitals, present your insurance card or pre-authorization letter. For reimbursement claims, collect all original receipts, the doctor's report and completed claim form. Submit these to Hamarkoh and we will process your reimbursement claim with the underwriter.
If your claim is rejected, do not accept this without review. Contact Hamarkoh immediately — we will examine the reasons for rejection, engage the underwriter on your behalf, and escalate to the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Kenya (IRA) if necessary. We advocate strongly for our clients.
An excess is the first portion of a claim that you pay before the insurer pays the rest. Yes, excess is generally mandatory — it is your contribution as the insured. However, if you have an Excess Protector add-on on your motor policy, the insurer covers this portion on your behalf.
Our claims team is ready to help you navigate the process quickly and professionally.
